didnt know AILD were influenced by them but, you can clearly hear how talented these guys are when they just fool around and make a gimmick album that sounds more brutal and catchy then a lot of serious albums. If they took the lyrics more seriously it could easily be another great AILD album. The arnold soundbites are hillarious. Some of these songs can even go head to head with AILD's albums.I like it for what it is. I give it 4.5 stars "WHATS DA MATTAAR GUYZ AAHHRR Yu TIYARD. YOU SAY ALL DA SONGZ ZOUND DA ZAME,, OF COURSE ZEY DO DATS BECAUZ DER BRUTALLL.LOL Listening to this album I hear a lot of the old NYC hardcore riffs.
But even without the comedy, the music will stand alone. Absolutely one of the best Thrash CDs I've heard in years. This project would be worth purchase solely for the comedy. What a great surprise. I highly recommend this to fans of metal who don't mind a good laugh. I don't know where they found him, but he guy playing Arnold.IS AHNOLD. The material is truly funny and stands up to repeated listens.
The outcome is a mixture of superb modern Thrash and some of the most hilarious vocals in the history of the genre.Let's face it, "Ahnold" has been one of the easiest targets since his breakout role as Conan the Barbarian. (let's play a game).a wonderful game called. Here we have Tim Lambesis of his far more popular band As I Lay Dying taking on ALL instruments and vocals with help from Chad Ackerman whom is a pro at impersonating Arnold Schwarzenegger. Theirs also some nice back and forth dialog between Chad and Tim on a couple of these 'spoken' tracks. Comedy is a rare but glorious find in Metal music.
It uses Metal and Comedy in a similar sense yet still holds some quality musicianship. The only other album I can honestly consider similar is The Dethalbum by Dethklok. Aside the 'spoken' tracks we have the actually lyrical content of the songs, some of these are just out right hilarious, here's an example. Now we are going to do.Something extremely fun (hwoww yeah). We're going to play. Highly recommended to a wide array of Metal fans with an open mind and a good sense of humor. The music is of excellent quality, but don't expect the greatest Thrash album ever. Overall I think this is possibly one of my favorite side projects by a metal musician ever, and I'm not even really a big fan of As I lay Dying. Mixing the hilarity of Arnold's lack of pronunciation with Metal that is accessible to a wide range of rock and metal fans is a completely new and creative spin on a classic punchline. The music is rip roaring, straight forward Thrash with some more modern elements thrown in such as breakdowns, and Death-like growls/yells. The comedy aspect is extremely well done, flows well with the music and doesn't overtake the entire album.
Few bands pull it off well and even less do it with talent (All of Devin Townsend's works comes to mind). Who is your daddyWho is your daddy, and what does he do.The overall effect of this album is simply fun, nothing extremely mind boggling in the music department, but certainly good quality music. Thanks for reading, if my review was interesting please let me know but clicking 'Yes' below.-FAVORITE TRACKS-Get to the ChoppaI Am a Cybernetic Organism, Living Tissue Over (Metal) EndoskeletonBroo-Tall Song IdeaIf It Bleeds, We Can Kill It But let's also face that impersonating the "Governator" has been an old stand up act since the early 90's. Theirs even some very well executed solo's through out the album and to be honest I am left impressed by Tim's well rounded knowledge of all the instruments showcased. The album has seven tracks in total that are primarily Chad Ackerman impersonating Arnold and are easily the most hilarious aspects of the album.
check em' out @ www.myspace.com/goretorture. If you are a Metalhead and love Arnold movies, this of course is a must hear. CHAUD. and btw, I do the best Arnold impersonation, period. Arnold Metal is great. However, these guys aren't the originators of the genre, I gotta give mad props to GoreTorture, the OG Arnie Metal project.
Tim Lambesis from As I Lay Dying has made this album, along with possibly the only decent Arnold impression I've ever heard done by Destroy The Runner's frontman Chad Ackerman. So what exactly happens when you combine the two greatest things ever. From the opening notes of 'Get To The Choppa' to the end of 'It's Not A Tumor,' this record does not disappoint. We all know that the two greatest things ever are heavy metal and Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. A new beast, dubbed the greatest greatest thing ever, emerges to knock your @$$ off. And, as Lambesis states in the liner notes, it's much better than most bands out there who take themselves too seriously.AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE.TOTAL BRUTAL.GET IT. Now imagine, if you can, those two things being combined. Yes, it's been done.
